"You're an adult, you should know this." or "If you don't have $xxx, you're not working hard enough." Are you believing these lies? STOP! It isn't your fault. One of the biggest challenges for people to get financial help is that they simply feel embarrassed. They believe so many lies and find themselves embarrassed because they aren't where they "should be."

I've heard so many people mention they didn't understand why they have such a hard time managing their finances... "It should be easier than this!" If you're one of those who believe these lies and that you're the only one who feels this way, I'm here to tell you that you are not alone.
Financial education has become nonexistent in so many public schools, and in many households, finance isn't discussed with the kids. In other situations, a relationship with money can be developed simply based on your parents' beliefs and attitude toward money. Because of this, many people are left to be influenced by our spending culture and don't truly know where they stand with the topic of money. It's almost impossible to get away from it the bombardment of the pressure to spend. Marketing professionals get paid to grab your attention to purchase products. You can feel the need to purchase a variety of things from a bottle of water at the checkout line to a new car. It's about convenience and you will spend a lot more because of it.
The truth is, there isn't enough financial education and there's too much pressure to buy, buy, buy. Add that to your values and relationship with money. One size does not fit all. There has to be a balance. It's easy to get caught up in the trap of financial stress. If it's not understood or controlled, it can cause you to spiral down into a pit of despair. You feel helpless and defeated.
The good news is, there is always a way out. It's a combination of understanding your thoughts about money, forming a good plan, and creating new habits. You can do this! It's about learning how to control your money instead of your money controlling you. It you're having a hard time finding a place to start, I can help you. A lot of people need help understanding what needs to change and how to change it. Wherever you are, I can help you. No judgement, no pressure, no need to feel embarrassed. It's time to stop letting others control you and your future.
